As an Advocacy Friend there will be times when you need to direct someone to another support service that can help them, which may not be an advocacy-related service. This is known as “signposting.” You can signpost people to services such as:
•Citizens Advice – offers free, confidential information and advice to assist people with money, legal, consumer rights, and other problems
•Money advice services
•Mental health services
•Housing services
•Other forms of signposting can include GPs, the council, or the police
